NIC RHEW

ACTOR, SINGER, DANCER

Howdy! Thanks for being here!

My name is Nic Rhew, and I am a current fourth-year Music Theater major at Oberlin College and Conservatory. Originally from Houston, Texas, I have been surrounded by music and the arts for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I knew I wanted to spend my life telling stories on the screen and stage.

Performing has taken me across the country, working at regional playhouses such as Playhouse Square, the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Great Lakes Theater, and the Forestburgh Playhouse.

When not performing, I love to listen to music, journal, travel, and find new coffee shops in my area. I am a big reality tv fan, my favorites being Big Brother, Survivor, and Drag Race.

  • "Anatole, played by Conservatory third-year Nic Rhew... not only woos Natasha but also the entire audience with impeccable vocal work, especially the sustained, high C#5 at the end of 'Pierre and Anatole.'"

Naci Konar-Steenberg and Calvin Ray Shawler, The Oberlin Review

  • "Standout cast members are Nic Rhew as Jamie Lockhart, the Gentleman Robber, who possesses a fine singing voice, and, as required, is tall, dark, and handsome..."

  • "Prince Anatole, who seduces Natasha upon her entry into Moscow’s high society, is a simpering bad boy who sings in falsetto, and Nic Rhew found his sweet spot in that register."

  • "Nic Rhew plays the leading man, Jamie Lockhart. Rhew has a mysterious air and roguish charm perfect for the Robin Hood-esque, morally gray love interest. His velvety vocals are on fine display in the song, “Steal With Style.”

    Gwendolyn Kochur, SCENE

  • "Nic Rhew’s, Larry... the assistant, is compelling and convincing, fully exhibiting his talent and making him a suitable leader of the pack."
